Things to Do in Vieques
As the rum capital of the world, Puerto Rico is home to several distilleries, including the Crab Island Rum Distillery. As the first distillery on Vieques, the Crab Island Rum Distillery is one of our favorite things to do in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Vieques, like many other islands in the Caribbean, fell under the control of several countries upon its discovery. The English named it Crab Island, and the Spanish named it Vieques, thus the name Crab Island Rum Distillery was born.
Enjoy a taste of the island with a visit to the distillery. Sample their handcrafted artisanal rum, specialty drinks like their Crab Island Mojitos and the Crab Mule, plus listen to live music and enjoy delicious food. Be sure to also ask for a tour to see how they make their rum and get to know a little more about the distillery.
