About the Hotel

Vieques Island Hotel

Image of Hacienda Tamarindo

Upon entering our hotel lobby, where tropical breezes converge to provide constant cooling, one knows they are in a special place. The hotel’s namesake, a 275-year-old tamarind tree grows up through the lobby to the floor above ending in a canopy above the dining room where Hacienda Tamarindo’s fabulous breakfast is served.

The owners’ lifetime accumulation of antiques and memorabilia were shipped down in two containers from New England. One will find a gallery of artwork, both murals and paintings, done by local artists and hotel guests, giving the hotel a true local feel. This artwork extends from the lobby into the bar/library area and will be found in some rooms, as well.

Hacienda Tamarindo’s honor bar is a favorite of guests, offering a variety of liquors, beer, wine, juices, sodas, and water. The bar is available 24/7 for the ease and enjoyment of guests. It’s as simple as make your own drink and write it down in the book—no fuss. The hotel library is well used by guests who are avid readers. One may swap a hardcover book that’s been read for one that hasn’t or take a paperback for something to read at the beach or on the plane.

Children 15 years or older are welcome (10 years or older during off season).

Sorry! No pets allowed.
